Empowering people within the context of workforce development and ecology. Helping to build our campus and programs, while supporting our community.
We seek to empower individuals by providing comprehensive training in utilizing cutting-edge tools, enabling them to become skilled artisans of sustainable solutions. These programs are fueled by creativity, collaboration, and a steadfast dedication to nature-based practices.
The Zones
-
Fab Lab
Our Fab Lab, or digital fabrication laboratory, will be a place to play, create, mentor and invent! Fab Labs provide access to the environment, the skills, the materials and the advanced technology to allow people to make (almost) anything!
-
Renewable Energy Lab
At REAP, we operate off of solar energy. We hope to cultivate a renewable energy lab and workshop on our campus to educate the community on the benefit of solar energy and battery management for renewable resources.
-
Wood Shop
Our woodshop will be a place for creation and skill development! Alongside gaining proficiency with power tools, people will learn how to take projects from ideas into reality!
-
Metal Shop
Our metal shop is critical in the creation of our campus and in supporting our on campus partners. It is also a learning zone that allows people to take away skills for personal and professional projects!
-
Sewing Loft
Our sewing loft is being designed to cultivate technical skills and creativity among the community!
Learn. Create. Grow. Do.
This is just the beginning.
We envision a scalable model to influence larger systems change. Over time and through financial avenues, REAP aspires to host workshops and provide resources within our Makerspace to train a workforce that centers nature-based systems in their careers.
Where we go from here
Our Makerspace is at the foundation of our work. We have lofty goals to grow it into a more structured and expansive library of creative tools, empowering a transformation towards nature-based solutions in the workforce. To accomplish this, we envision offering comprehensive trainings, certifications, and education opportunities to individuals, groups, and organizations alike. By equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to prioritize nature-inspired practices, we strive to shape a workforce that thrives in harmony with the environment. We seek partnership, funders, and collaboration to achieve our goals on REAP’s campus and beyond.
