Our goal is to make urban spaces green through sustainable, nature-based solutions that will nurture and support our communities.
These programs will also provide the tools and training for urban farming work! Through them we aim to create more awareness and pathways for green jobs!

Permaculture Community Garden
Our permaculture garden will be built on observed arrangements in nature to create a low-maintenance and productive ecosystem. Each plant in the garden will play a specific purpose and land into mutually beneficial relationships with each other.

Regenerative Animal Agriculture
This approach emphasizes reducing reliance on exogenous inputs as well as restoring and enhancing ecosystem services such as soil carbon sequestration, water infiltration, nutrient cycling, biodiversity, and wildlife habitat. Our animal care initiatives currently include sheep, chickens, and bees.

Compost Technologies
Composting is our most natural way of reducing waste and producing high quality soil. Our goal is to train people in composting methods and science so they can create their own composing systems at home or community.

Community Food
Hunger is an issue throughout the Alameda community and broader Bay Area despite tones of food going to waste every day. Through partnerships REAP center is looking to provide food and nutritional education for community members sourced from our campus and beyond.
